Gita Ghei is a soon to be retired metal sculptor specializing in public art and teaching. Her work is centered around the concept of the strength of diversity in people and nature. She works with metal and ephemeral materials, notably candy. She has worked in public school settings in MN for over 20 years with residencies and grants. She teaches art combining science and topics such as plants, water, green energy and collaborates with young people to make public art. She maintains a studio in Minneapolis. Gita recently finished a Certificate Program in Herbal Studies from Minneapolis College. She is embarking on land restoration and becoming a medicinal herb grower for herbalists and naturopaths.
